HISTORY

The Pension Lipa is a small family hotel which history goes back to the autumn of 1989. The owners Zora and Nikola Perkolič established a small pension on the area of a former railway station. The railway track which was connecting Jesenice with Tarvisio in Italy was built in 1870 and closed in 1966. The flow of the guests at the place however continued in the newly built pension.

The spouses Perkolič have been all the time aiming to enlarge the family practice and to surpass even their own limitations, therefore their pension very soon became a small family hotel with its own restaurant and pizzeria opened to the public. Even though the restaurant is partly on the lower flour, it is airy and pleasant due to the high arched ceiling through which the light shines softly. The pizzeria on the ground floor is very spacious and bright, with the winter garden through which you can watch the surroundings in any season.

As we are at the border with Italy and Austria a lot of international dishes are being served. The unofficial slogan of the house »simplicity in diversity« confirms that the guest when coosing the dishes can start with a very simple pasta, risotto or pizza and continue with the specially selected fish and meat. Anyway Mrs. Zora, the chef cuisine and Mr. Nikola who is in charge for the service are very harmonised so the guests can be really satisfied and feel welcome.
